Hilltop and IT Security Partner BlackStratus to Host ALA Lunch-n-Learn in March

Hilltop Consultants, Inc. and our partner BlackStratus will be presenting an informative session on Meeting Client’s Security Level Requirements at the IT Section Meeting of the Association of Legal Administrators Capital Chapter. This meeting is open to clients of Hilltop Consultants as well members of the Association of Legal Administrators.

This event will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 12:00-1:30pm at the Wilkinson Barker & Knauer LLP, 1800 M St. NW, Suite 800N, Washington, DC 20036.

Session Description:

Law firms have an ever-increasing challenge to satisfy the security requirements of each client’s industry or specialty. With security breaches happening more often, potential clients are assessing law firms’ security posture as part of the selection process for a legal partner. Are your clients required to meet industry-specific information security regulations like GLBA, HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, FIPS, ISO, etc.?

Many organizations are looking to extend security requirements to law firms. Some industries are starting to require that law firms comply with existing regulations applicable within that industry. Will meeting the client’s needs satisfy ABA Model Rules 1.1, 1.6 and Comments? How do you know you are preventing the inadvertent or unauthorized disclosure of, or unauthorized access to, information relating to the representation of a client?

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about how you can see and understand where your data resides.
  • Learn how to know in real-time when your data has had unauthorized access.
  • Learn about affordable options for Security Operation Center (SoC) solutions.
  • Learn how to prevent downtime, a common and costly result of malicious unauthorized access.

Lunch will be provided. We will also be drawing one attendee business card and giving away a $50 Amazon gift card.
