In order to prevent unauthorized access to data from lost or stolen computers, Hilltop recommends both Disk Encryption and File System Level encryption. With the popularity of cloud services, many Windows computers are no longer being joined to Windows domains. This means that the default protection that was in place for a users profile and data is no longer implemented. There are also many tools that can reset administrative passwords and file security and permissions.
